Though our country got independence on Aug 15th, 1947, are we really free is a question that ponders and crosses all our minds!

We are free to vote and elect our own Government! We are free citizens! We have fundamental right! But does all this really make us free????

We thought of taking this as our theme for the August issue.

So What is freedom? When we were kids we imagined how nice it would be to be an adult: you have your own money, you are free to do what you want, drive a car or even operate a plane, do everything that you want. We thought that being an adult means to be free, because you are no longer dependent on mom and dad. Before you is the whole wide-open world full of choices and little did we realise that while we did get the freedom but with many conditions, which are much worse than nagging Parents and boring school.

To be free to us, means:

“You can do what is right for you. Just following the voice inside of you.”

“It means to live without being punished for your opinion. It also means not to work hours pulling a wagon all day long, which you don’t enjoy”.

“It means enjoying what you are doing”

“It’s about making those choices, which makes us happy ”

So what do we need to do to be Free!

In words of the bestselling author Guy Finley the only way to be free is to “STOP COMPARING YOUSELF WITH OTHERS”.

He says, “We all are not born with the persistent negative, self-doubting, self-limiting thoughts and feelings most of us carry around. Those limitations are not part of our “original equipment”.

When you realise no one else on this earth can be like you… that no other soul may know the beauty, sorrow, light and darkness you alone are given to see, then you will no longer want to be like anyone else on this earth. You will, at last, be the fearless individual your heart of hearts has called you to be.”

We can choose the fearless path because we were, in fact, born fearless.

So go ahead break free, make choices and enjoy being what you are! Because whatever you have is unique and special.

Believe in yourself and your capabilities.

Wishing you all a Happy Independence Day – Aug 15th 2014
